Robert Cray comes 'home'

Posted: 12 Aug 2015

Legendary guitarist and singer-songwriter Robert Cray is returning to the UK and plays Sage Gateshead on 13 October.
Following No1 chart success with his 2014 studio release ‘In My Soul’, and awards including five Grammies, the multi-platinum-selling artist said:
"For 30 years now, you've made us feel like we're always coming home.”
Over four decades Robert Cray has laid down track after track of good-time, uptown, low-down blues, and has been known as one of the most popular artists in blues and soul music.
He helped to shape the blues on the national scene in the 1980s with his breakthrough album ‘Strong Persuader’ in 1986. His soulful and creative guitar work has been a dominant force in blues.
Cray is considered one of the greatest guitarists of his generation. He has written or performed with fellow stars including Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Lee Hooker.

Marti Pellow Supported by Philippa Hanna Sage Gateshead 24 March 2017 There’s nothing mysterious about Marti Pellow despite ‘Mysterious’ being the name of the tour he stopped off with at Sage Gateshead along with his nine-piece band. With a packed audience who had grown up with the former ‘Wet Wet Wet’ front-man, Pellow’s fun-infected fusion rolled along at a steady pace, punctuated by the occasional number slow enough to persuade some of his adoring legions to momentarily sit...
