Sunderland Empire Theatre
I thought I’d take a chance on Abbamania at the Empire. By

merely going through the motions.

The two girls in the production were the dancing queens of
the performance – although the audience had a good go too and needed no
prompting to join in.
Abbamania isn’t a show as such – more a simple performance
of hit songs by a tribute act.
But the fact that, in a concert of almost two hours, every

when they were the name of the game in the Seventies and early Eighties.
Abbamania is on at Whitley Bay Playhouse on Friday 17 April
so, if you missed the show at Sunderland, there’s a second chance to put on a
shiny shell suit and some platform boots and you too can be a super trouper!
